Client vs. Customer
AT THE RETIREMENT PLANNING GROUP, we think there’s a big difference between a client and a customer.
Wal-Mart refers to their shoppers as customers. McDonald’s prides itself on serving billions of customers. And Amoco watches its customers drive in, fill-up, and leave everyday. Our point is this: by and large, when you are a classified by a business as a customer, you are a nameless, faceless individual with zero personal relationship.
If you are interviewing a potential advisor or if your current advisor refers to you as a customer, he or she unfortunately thinks no differently of you than say someone taking your order at a burger joint.
When you are a client, you are known, there is a personal relationship and you are appreciated. You aren’t relegated to a PIN number, and you aren’t placed on hold all day waiting to get help. The Retirement Planning Group only takes clients. Our advisors don’t just know you and your spouse, but they know your kids’ names, the number of grandchildren you have, your hobbies, worries, dreams and hopes.
Customers are fine for those flipping hamburgers. But, if you want to be a client, The Retirement Planning Group may be the place for you.
