Wow, 2019 came and went! Corin, my 13-year-old is already poking me about getting a car, Kash is still headed for the NBA, and Kiptyn is vying for a goalie position on any MLS team that will take him. As a fallback, he’s begging for a YouTube Channel. But in the event those plans don’t pan out, I still make sure they are working hard at school and Scouts. And of course, I still save for college. This year was filled with trips to the lake, camping trips, basketball, volleyball, soccer, band, choir, zero trips to the emergency room, and only one emergency trip to the dentist. We kept up our streak of being terrible at fishing and making pinewood derby cars. But we dominated at having fun, building memories and learning how to be better tomorrow than we were today.

While there were many new experiences and changes as each year passed, some things stayed straight and true – Corin still turns to me for advice, Kash still likes to play catch before the bus comes in the morning and Kiptyn’s favorite place on the couch seems to be right next to me…even in the hot sticky dead of summer.

As the year comes to a close, there are a few things I’ve learned: Gas gauges on boats aren’t accurate. Bats can indeed fly into a small opening at 2 am and fly around the space in which you are sleeping. The refrigerator shrinks as your boys grow older. And I can no longer compete with my boys at video games. And as each of us learns something new each day, I find that only when I stop to look around is it possible to count all that we have…and forget all that we don’t. I hope over the chaos of the holiday season you each have the ability to find that same silence and peace to make note of all the folks surrounding you. I’m a lucky guy. We truly have a great team at TRPG, and I’ve lucked out with the three boys I get to call my sons. Happy Holidays to you and yours! Kevin, Corin (13), Kash (11), Kiptyn (8)

2019 brought a few changes to the King household, one of them being Larry and I decided to move again. We are still renting and love the renting lifestyle but decided we wanted something closer to the kids, more central. We moved in January and love our new space and location. The kids are all doing well. Cameron is still working at Cerner as a Software Engineer. Courtney is loving her job at Hallmark. We are very happy to have her back in KC. Christian is going to school at Johnson County Community College and working nights at Hy-Vee. They are all happy and healthy, and we are grateful for that.

Larry and I took a few trips this year. We went to an all-inclusive resort in February. Wow, we saw what we were missing out on, we were spoiled rotten during our stay! In October we took a trip to Napa/Sonoma; wine country (right up my alley) and Monterey, CA. It was a lovely trip, very relaxing. Life is good and we feel very blessed. We wish the same for you, Happy New Year!

Wow! What a year… Where has 2019 gone? It has been a great year for the Striegel Family! Andie (6) is in 1st Grade and adores school. Math, reading, and gymnastics class are her favorites. Kane (4) is in his last year before Pre-K. He is a lover of all things sports…basketball, football, soccer…he is either shooting, throwing, or kicking a ball! We finally agreed this year, we wanted to finish our basement and got it done. Now we are stoked to entertain! A few long weekends took us to Des Moines to see my family and to Truman Lake in Missouri to see Casey’s parents. Casey took a new IT Sales position with VMware this year. She has been traveling weekly supporting clients from Jefferson City to Omaha! I have had my share of sand volleyball tournaments sprinkled in throughout the year including one in Vail, Colorado. We are thrilled to be a part of this TRPG Family. We wish you a wonderful, warm Christmas and CHEERS to 2020! Love – Matt, Casey, Andie, & Kane Striegel

It’s been a great year of wedding celebrations for the Rummerfield household! Our son Ryan and his wife Hayley were married on April 20th. Less than 30 days later our daughter Kelly was married to her husband Eric, on May 18th! Both weddings were so beautiful, and Dennis and I were beyond proud and overwhelmed with joy! It’s given me a whole new appreciation for wedding planners! I find myself sitting back in awe of our four kids who have somehow, what seems like overnight, grew into adults!

Our once family of 6, has grown to a family of nine, with the new additions of Hayley and Eric. Speaking of new additions, Dennis and I are so excited to welcome our first grandchild in February 2020! Ryan and Hayley are expecting and will welcome their beautiful little girl sometime around early February. I can’t even begin to imagine how incredible it will feel to be a grandparent! My favorite new store is buybuy BABY and I am having a great time already! Rachel is in her Junior year at KU and will be graduating with a double major in Psychology and Early Childhood Education and Intervention, in December of 2020. Kenny and Kristen are doing great and enjoying life together. We are beyond thankful and blessed for our family and all the journeys they are starting!

Always such a pleasure to see or speak with each of you throughout the year! It’s the best part of my job! I hope 2020 brings much happiness, health, and joy to all!

2019 was the year of transition for The Twillman Family as we now have an empty nest. Our son, Tanner, graduated from Olathe East High School in May and finished up his last season of high school baseball in the State tournament. He is now attending Baker University and playing for their Wildcats Baseball Team. Our daughter, Leslie, had a summer accounting internship with Burns & McDonnell and an overseas trip to Budapest with KPMG. She will be graduating from K-State in December, only to start again at KU in the fall on her master’s in accounting. Even our grandkids are growing up and changing fast. The week that we moved Tanner AND Leslie to college, Landon started kindergarten.

The empty nest has taken a little time to adjust, but I think we are getting used to it. In October, we took our first trip without thinking ‘what do we do with the kids’ and went to Vegas. A friend of ours said it was a ‘grandparents gone wild’ weekend. One thing is for sure, we have found through this year of transition is that time we have with family is extremely valuable. We must put down the phones, stop what we are doing, listen, pay attention and be there for the little bit of time they are around.

Thank you to all for your continued confidence in what we do at The Retirement Planning Group. Christmas Blessings from our family to yours. Dwight & Tina Twillman

The most significant and frightening event of 2019 for the Costello family was watching our 16-year-old daughter Claire start driving herself to school. She is now a sophomore in high school and enjoys performing in high school musical productions. Kylan is in 6th grade this year and has really developed a love and talent for showing horses. She competes in the Hunter class and is already doing 24-inch jumps. The big event for her this year was showing at the American Royal in October. Not being adept in the horse world, I was surprised to hear that you can “lease” horses…and I thought that golf was an expensive activity! All the best to you and your family. Happy Holidays! 2019 has been an amazing year of change for me and my family. We expanded our family with the addition of our Belgian Malinois puppy (Paris) in April. We enjoy watching Paris and our dachshund (Bailey) grow, learn new tricks & run around the house together playing tug-a-war. I made several trips to California throughout the year to visit my niece that was born last November. She is such a doll and we are blessed to be able to spend her 1st birthday with us here in St. Louis! We finally finished (for the most part) the renovation of our kitchen that we are enjoying every day! We enjoyed trips to the river and lake for boating, skiing and family get-togethers over the summer.

I celebrated my third anniversary with TRPG in July & I count my blessings every day to be working with such a wonderful group of people! Our two boys turned 16 this summer! Lg got his license and a car right away and away he went! Luke waited a while to get his license but he did this November as well as a car. Needless to say, they are both staying quite busy between school, jobs and of course their social life! Both are amazing/wonderful boys and both maintain amazing grades in school! As this year starts to wind down we are looking forward to a wonderful holiday season and towards a happy new year. We are so thankful for our health, happiness & amazing family and friends. I hope you have an exceptional holiday season and an amazing new year!

It’s been another busy year for the Morales family. Lizzy is a junior this year. She serves on the National Honor Society and is already looking at colleges to pursue a degree in engineering. She also got her first job! Emily is in 8th grade, her last year at Nativity of Mary Parochial School. This year, she starred in Seussical the Musical as Mayzie La Bird, a role I feel like she was born to play. Volleyball is also a big part of our lives for both Lizzy and Emily. My wife Sarah, started working as a Math Curriculum Consultant and spent some time this year traveling to various parts of the region, helping fellow teachers develop better curriculum.

We did a little traveling this year. In June, Emily’s dance team took us to Chicago for nationals. They did well and took first place in several categories. Of course, we sampled some deep-dish pizza and visited the pier and “The Bean” while we were there. From there, we went to Milwaukee for a couple of days.

As if our lives weren’t busy enough, we joined a Scout troop in Lee’s Summit. This was just in time for summer camp of course. So, in August we spent 10 days in canvas tents braving the heat, bugs and occasional raccoon. They had a good time though and are planning on going back in 2020.

2019 was a whirlwind, but we’re used to that by now. Someday it will slow down. But for now, we’re enjoying the ride. Happy Holidays from the Morales family! Thank you for allowing me to serve you and your family and we wish you the best in 2020.

She said yes! Megan finished her two-year work assignment in London in May and I decided that was the right time to ask her to start a new commitment with me. We have had an eventful second half of the year getting her settled back into KC and our house. Our time has been filled with home projects, family activities, wedding planning, and work. Although I slightly miss some of my stuff (I had my leather couch broken in perfectly!) it has certainly been a welcome change having her presence every day and to begin making a home together.

My Mom continues her treatments for pancreatic cancer, and despite experiencing some valleys my family all remain upbeat. The past two years with Megan being abroad and my Mom fighting harsh cancer have really taught me the importance of telling your loved ones just that: that you love them. I am grateful for the ability to do so with all my family and for the perspective that comes with life’s challenges.

I am also grateful for the continued opportunity to work with my clients, hear about their successes, and to be a part of The Retirement Planning Group. I owe a sincere thank you to everyone that has offered me encouraging, kind words. I want to wish everyone a happy and loving holiday season.

It’s hard to believe 2019 is already almost up. It feels like just last week I was introducing myself to you through last year’s holiday card! Over the course of 2019, I’ve been able to reach more clients in more states than ever before in helping them build and follow a financial plan to reach their goals. Ranging from the far east coast to the west coast, down south and the Midwest, it’s been an honor getting to know so many of you this past year; I look forward to serving you for years to come! Personally, I accomplished the biggest goal of mine to date: Completing the Kansas City Marathon! Growing up a runner, it had always been on my radar, and this was the year I made it happen. Having my father (who has completed 6 marathons) meet me at the finish line with open arms was the cherry on top of it all. It was a great way to end the running season and set my sights in 2020 – Onward & Upward! Pictured: Meghan (sister), Keith (dad), Ethan

I am so very excited and blessed to have joined the TRPG family in October as a TRPG Tax Advisor. I am loving everyone in my new work family and look forward to getting to know all of you as well.

I have been married to my husband Chris for 10 years and we have two wonderful children, Landon and Kylie. This summer took my family to the Black Hills of South Dakota for a family reunion as well as to Destin, Florida for a beach vacation. These vacations meant a lot of time in the car as a family, but we survived! We also spent time watching Kylie during her first dance recital and Landon play many baseball and soccer games.

Landon started kindergarten in August which has been quite the experience, but we are loving seeing him learn new things. Watching a child learn from the base forces you to slow down and appreciate the small things. Kylie is in her last year of pre-school and has quite the spunk. We look forward to seeing what the new year will bring our family and I look forward to working with you this upcoming year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

The O’Blennis family had another great year in 2019. Xavier is now 5 ½ and loves Kindergarten. His teachers tell us he loves math. He insisted we take the training wheels off his bike in August and he’s been speeding around ever since. Gust is 3 ½ and is going to preschool 3 days a week. He does his best to keep up with his big brother. He’s made a ton of new friends and loves going to school. The boys love toy trucks and construction equipment and have wreaked havoc on our back yard. Life is full as the boys keep us on our toes. Lori loves that she finally has a few days each week to herself. We spent summer vacation again with Rob’s family at Table Rock Lake. Throughout the year Lori took the boys for a few weekend trips to see grandma and grandpa in Colorado Springs. We are all excited to see them again for Christmas in Colorado this year.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas. Thank you for the trust and faith you place in us. See you in 2020!

I can’t believe we’re at the end of 2019 already. I know I say that every year (it’s true, I do say that…I even checked) but time flies. It’s been a great year all around. TRPG turned 15 earlier this year and I couldn’t be more excited about this place and the direction we are heading. It has been a fun year for the Costello crew as well. With 3 kids and 2 dogs, there is never a dull moment. We had a wonderful trip out to California and spend some time in Harry Potter World and Disneyland then headed down to San Diego for a little slower pace at the beach. It was a big year for our family as now all three kiddos are in school and at the same school which has been so fun. They all love getting to see each other at school throughout the day. Lucy (11) is in 5th grade and loves reading (especially Harry Potter) and doing creative writing. Rose (8) is in 2nd grade and loves reading as well and is really into art. As she will tell you, art is her favorite subject. Leo (6) is in kindergarten and is my sports enthusiast. He started playing soccer last spring and he has enjoyed every minute of it throughout the spring and fall seasons. Up next for us is basketball this winter. Aislinn and I couldn’t be more proud of our 3 kiddos and the quality of people they are all becoming.

I am extremely grateful for all our clients here at TRPG who have trusted us to be their advisor. Your trust is something we never will take for granted. We wish you the absolute best in 2020!

2019 was another fun and activity-filled year! We took our usual trips out to Colorado- once during the winter for a family ski trip, and another getaway in the summer for some whitewater rafting and trout fishing. The weather never seems to disappoint out there! The rest of the year was spent keeping our boys focused on school and outside areas of interest. Kameron enjoyed playing baseball and just wrapped up a successful football season. His teams won the championship game in both sports but more importantly, he had fun while also growing as a player and teammate. Kaleb continues to advance his skills at guitar and enjoys rocking various venues in the KC area. My chicken flock is doing well and giving us plenty of farm-fresh eggs in return. We plan to enjoy the rest of the year spending time with family and friends and making sure our horses, chickens and pets stay warm and happy during the winter months.

It’s been another good year, and I’m fortunate for the opportunity to work with such great clients and coworkers. I hope everyone has a great holiday season and a happy and healthy 2020!

2019 has been another busy year at the McDonald household! We seem to always be on the go for one thing or the other. Evelyn made the 7th-grade cheer team this year so she has been happily tumbling, stunting and cheering for her school. She loves everything about it and is already setting her sights on being a high school cheerleader. Noelle is in 5th grade this year and had a lot of fun playing volleyball in the spring and fall with a great group of girls. Not to be outdone by her sister, she is wanting to try out for the middle school dance team when she gets old enough so there is a lot of dance and cheer practice going on at our house these days. Ben started kindergarten this year. Although he wasn’t sure of it at first, now that he has gotten into a routine and made some good buddies, he is loving school. He played t-ball again this year and is looking forward to giving basketball a try this winter. John and I continue to stay busy with work and managing everyone’s schedules. House projects still consume a lot of our time as they never seem to end! We find ourselves extremely thankful for all of our family & friends and quality time spent together. Wishing you all a very happy and blessed 2020!

Life is a journey. This past year my life’s journey was filled with the challenges that come when you finally make changes in your life that need to be made. A relationship ended. A house was sold. You get the picture. All I have to say is, be careful what you pray for in life. Sometimes in order for God to answer your prayer your life needs to be shook up a bit to make way for His blessings.

After my house sold, I moved to Springfield, MO to be closer to my family. I had been praying to find just the right place close to my sister and her family. Months of calling on houses that had just been rented etc. was a bit stressful. Shortly after I reached Springfield, the house right next door to my sister became available. I now work remotely from home and sometimes from the office in Springfield. I am located as close as I can be to my family and enjoy being a part of their daily lives.

Along the way, two new loves came into my life. One is a dog named Molly. I didn’t want another dog as I already had an old hound dog named Boomer and two cats, Malcolm and Angus. I reluctantly decided to rescue her from a bad situation. I try to overlook the occasional mischief of getting into the trash and chewing on my shoes as she is still learning how to be a ‘good girl’ and I am still learning what I need to put up before bed. Her saving grace is that she gives wonderful hugs.

Second, I reconnected with an old friend from about twenty-five years ago, David. We are taking our time getting to know each other again and having a whole lot of fun along the way. So far so good. I am very hopeful as it seems we are on the same page in so many ways. The laughter and joy we share is more than I even knew to hope for. Most importantly, we pray together and for each other daily.

On a sad note, I had to say goodbye to my father a few months ago. He was a 93-year-old World War II veteran and it was his time. He was truly the greatest love of my life. By example, he taught me to always find humor in life and that you are never truly down until you stop getting up. He taught me to dust myself off, put my smile back on and to keep moving forward on this absurd journey with joy and optimism at every turn. So 2020 – Bring it on!

2019 is coming to a close and it has been one of the more eventful years I have had in my young life. I began 2019 a college student who was just looking for an opportunity to con someone into hiring me. Luckily, I came across The Retirement Planning Group on my job search and was given the opportunity to start once I finished up graduation activities at KU (RCJH). Graduating from KU and entering the workforce has sparked many different passions in me and I hope to explore these over the coming years.

I also moved into a new apartment in Lawrence with my girlfriend Julia which has been a true blessing this year. We have made trips to CO in the Estes Park area as well as Colorado Springs. We will also be making our way to Maryland to visit my family over the coming Christmas break. She is graduating from KU this year and we hope to be able to move to the KC area when that happens.

I joined the TRPG team in August and am incredibly grateful to work with such an amazing group of people! 2019 has had its fair share of ups and down for Tanner and I. Early in the year, we lost two of our beloved dogs to cancer within a week of each other and shortly after, my grandmother unexpectedly passed away. It was a rough start to the year but spring brought happier times. KC (our remaining fur baby), is a real trail dog and she loved accompanying us on all of our spring and summer hiking adventures! Then in June, after months of planning and maid of honor responsibilities, my big sister got married! After so many highs and lows, Tanner and I decided we deserved a vacation. In October, we jetted off to Isla Mujeres, Mexico for an entire week of sand, sun, and more than our fair share of margaritas!
We are excited to see what 2020 has in store for us and I look forward to working with you this upcoming year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

This year I joined the TRPG team to help create a better customer experience and also to help drive new business through marketing. The Roberson family stays extremely busy year around. My middle child, Seiko, does gymnastics year-round and competes during the wintertime.  She placed second on bars in the state of Missouri this year and she also went on to Nationals placing 13th in the nation in track. My oldest son, David Jr., plays on two soccer teams, runs track and went to Nationals in the pentathlon. Oh, and he decided to join his middle school cross country team this year helping them rank higher than years before in Grain Valley. Roman, my youngest son keeps my wife busy at home but he decided to play soccer this year which has kept us three times as busy!

It has been a wonderful year for our family. Brian and I have been married for 29 years and have 4 children. Our oldest daughter, Holly, is a nurse with an active social life that often involves her recreational sand volleyball team. Greta, also a nurse, obtained her private pilot’s license last year. She spends much of her free time up in the clouds. Olivia is an artist who enjoys painting and sewing. She is currently working on a beautiful quilt by hand. Brian and Olivia are in the interior decorative painting and cabinets business. They enjoy working together as they update customer’s rooms and kitchens. No one wants me near a paintbrush and I’m grateful to have joined TRPG in September! Ben is the last one in school is finishing up at JCCC. He’s usually on the go with projects, friends or work. We had a fun celebration for my grandmother’s 95th birthday in August. Throw in a bunch of family barbeques, and couple of vacations, made for a fun-filled year. Wishing everyone a joyous holiday season!

Hello TRPG Nation! I’m so excited to have joined this team as an Advisor in the St. Louis office. I’ve been in this industry for close to 13 years and am thrilled to be at a firm where I can plant my roots and build long-term relationships with teammates and clients!

My wife Trisha and I have been married for 9 years and have called St. Louis home for the past 7 years – though I’ve lived here most of my life. Trisha is an attorney and runs her own family law practice in the area and we have 3 amazing kids. J.J. (6) started kindergarten this year and loves everything about school, with math and reading as his favorite subjects. He is also a sports nut and wants to spend every waking moment playing or watching sports. Soccer and baseball are his specialties. Grayson (3) started a full-time preschool program this fall and is learning a ton. He’s the goofball of the family and loves to play ninja’s and superheroes. He’s also looking forward to spring when he gets to play outdoor soccer for the first time. Sadie (1 on Dec 20th) is the little princess of the family. Her big brothers adore her and she’s working hard to figure out how to take those first steps so she can start chasing them around the house! If the three kids aren’t enough, our yellow lab Scooter (9) still has the energy level of a puppy.

We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for us and wish you all a happy, safe and fun-filled holiday season!

2019 seems to be a year that flew by with some bumps along the way. I joined TRPG Tax Advisors in December of this year. I am a born and raised Minnesotan (Go Twins) and lived there for 28 years where I raced a dirt track modified race car, was a volunteer firefighter/paramedic and played a ton of softball before moving down here 5 years ago. I worked at a local CPA firm previously and I am looking forward to being back into a tax role. I look forward to getting to meet you all and assist you with your tax needs as well!
In 2019 as a family we moved into our new house, celebrated our first year of marriage, and got a new GIANT Great Dane puppy. My family includes my husband Mike, who I met through softball several years ago. We play men’s, coed and women’s softball between the both of us. My daughter, Bailey, is 4 and in her last year of pre-school. She enjoys t-ball, cheerleading, and is in gymnastics. My stepdaughter, Mia, is 13 and is in 8th grade and loves drawing.
2020 has a bunch of plans for us as we have a few family trips booked. I will also be returning to softball after being out the last few months due to rotator cuff surgery. Overall, 2019 was a good year and 2020 is going to be even better! I hope everyone has a very Happy Holidays!
